Coaches

Ian Luyando, Quarterback Coach at QBFour U
Ian Luyando — , helping quarterbacks build confidence, fundamentals, and consistency.

Ian Luyando

Ian Luyando began playing football in 2011 and developed into a passionate quarterback and natural leader from an early age. He spent his Pop Warner years with Carneros de Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, where he won three championships and built a reputation as a dual-threat QB known for his poise, leadership, and work ethic. In 2017, he was selected as one of only 10 players—out of more than 600 athletes in Mexico—to attend the Pro Football Hall of Fame Youth Camp in Canton, Ohio.

In 2019, Ian moved to the United States and, despite overcoming an ACL injury, quickly established himself at both the high school and collegiate levels. At Buffalo Grove High School, he earned Offensive Team MVP, All-Region, and Team Captain honors. He later became the starting quarterback at Aurora University, where he served as a team captain and earned the 2023 NACC Offensive Player of the Year award while helping lead AU to its first 10–0 regular season in school history.

Beyond tackle football, Ian has been deeply involved in competitive flag football since 2012, developing a strong understanding of space, timing, decision-making, and efficiency—key elements of elite flag quarterback play. He has won multiple flag football tournaments and even organized his own competitive team at just 15 years old.

Most importantly, Ian is passionate about the growth of girls flag football and the development of girls quarterbacks. From 2017 to 2019, he coached youth quarterbacks and flag football athletes at Carneros, contributing to two championship seasons with players ages 10–15. His coaching approach emphasizes fundamentals, confidence, football IQ, and leadership—helping girls learn to command the offense, trust their mechanics, and play fast with purpose.

Ian brings not only high-level playing experience but also a genuine commitment to coaching, mentorship, and long-term development, empowering young athletes—especially girls in flag football—to reach their full potential on and off the field.

Demian Reyes

Demian Reyes brings over a decade of playing and coaching experience to the game, with a strong foundation in offensive football and quarterback development. He began his career at the quarterback position and went on to play more than 13 years overall, including three seasons at the collegiate level. His experience as a player shaped his understanding of the game, leadership, and the importance of fundamentals at every stage of development.

After his playing career, Demian transitioned into coaching, working extensively in both flag and tackle football. He has coached over 10 seasons of flag football and four full tackle seasons. During his most recent tackle season with the Dawgs, Demian focused heavily on quarterback development, offensive installation, and improving execution of the playbook.

Demian holds an MBA with a Sports focus from San Diego State University, where he deepened his understanding of athlete development, leadership, and the business of sports. He strongly believes in the power of sports as a tool to guide young athletes, viewing football as a microcosm of life—where discipline, accountability, resilience, and teamwork translate far beyond the field.

In recent years, Demian has committed himself to studying modern quarterback mechanics and long-term athlete development. He has worked closely alongside Ian in the long-term development program of a quarterback, helping design structured, patient development plans built around the philosophy of getting 1% better every day.

Demian’s coaching approach emphasizes fundamentals, mechanics, speed development, and building strength and athleticism the right way—believing quarterbacks must learn to crawl before they can run. A strong advocate for mental health, he believes quarterback play—and life itself—is won above the shoulders.

Above all, Demian is passionate about using football to help raise confident leaders, disciplined students, and good human beings who carry the lessons of the game into every area of life.
